Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions
LUMBER: This week we saw mills shift gears and bump up numbers across the board. With really not much time to the building season left as we head into November, mills took a more defensive position. I expect bumps up and down for the rest of the year. PANEL: With some major mill announcements on the OSB side of the market with indefinite curtailments, OSB saw a spike this week in pricing and pushed order files out just a bit. Look for Huber products to follow suit on Monday a

LUMBER: Mills took a pause this week as I feel they just don't want to go much lower with still some building season left to the year. I'm thinking this is only a pause however especially if demand continues to be lethargic. PANEL: This week finally saw some panel prices come off. Some buyers stepped in and bought at lower levels. I look for more depreciation in this market as well, however, OSB really can't go much lower. Paul Tarca Head of Purchasing Concord Lumber Corporat

Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions

Winter pricing coming early perhaps? PANEL: This week finally saw some panel prices come off. Some buyers stepped in and bought at lower levels. I look for more depreciation in this market as well, however, OSB r

LUMBER: Some small cracks appeared this week with some movement down on 2x4 random. 2x6 is still a bit in demand and held it's value. On the western wide lengths we saw some giveback but not on wide long lengths. The road forward is uncertain but I just don't see any major price increases on the lumber side, yet.... PANEL: The panel market stayed firm but with no real movement up or down. Paul Tarca Head of Purchasing Concord Lumber Corporation ptarca@concordlumbercorp.com
