Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions
Prices in the dimensional lumber market have been falling since the Department of Commerce released their softwood lumber duty findings last month. However, 2x4 and 2x6 studs have remained in tight supply and consequently prices have remained firm on these items.
Lumber purchasers have been buying with caution as they wait to see how much further the market pricing may drop. With demand up and purchasers have been buying to fill orders and holes in their inventory, which is keeping the prices from dropping abruptly.
The panel market has recently dropped in price as demand has been dwindling the last couple of weeks.
