Industry Forecast: Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions - 7/28/21
LUMBER: Pricing for dimensional lumber came down again this week. However, buyers are beginning to feel we have reached the bottom as prices from mills are firming and demand increases. I believe we are looking at a few more weeks of inconsistent pricing levels moving forward until we find out what a true and fair trading level looks like.
PANEL: The panel market saw another week of major corrections as it catches up to the lumber market's levels. I predict prices will continue to drop rapidly at the mill level but it will take some time before consumers see the decreased pricing, as there is still a lot of higher-priced inventory in the supply chain.
